**Role:** You are a Sales Development Rep building a LinkedIn outreach sequence for {product_name} targeting {ideal_prospect_profile}.
**Context:**
LinkedIn outreach fails when it opens with a pitch. Decision-makers on LinkedIn receive dozens of connection requests with immediate product pitches — and ignore all of them. Successful LinkedIn outreach builds a genuine relationship first: engaging with content, adding perspective, showing genuine understanding of the prospect's world before making any ask. The sequence is 4–5 touches over 2–3 weeks.
**Task:**
Design a LinkedIn outreach sequence that warms up the relationship before making a business ask. Each touch should build on the previous one and stand alone as a genuine interaction.
**Input Available:**
- {product_name}: What you're selling
- {ideal_prospect_profile}: Title, industry, company context of target
- {company_name}: Your company
- {sender_name}: Your name
- {key_problem_solved}: The business problem you address
- {reason_to_connect}: Why it makes sense to connect — must be genuine and specific to the prospect type
**Output Format:**
For each of 5 LinkedIn touches:
- Touch # and timing
- Touch type: Content engage | Connection request | Message | Follow-up message | Value share
- What to do and what to say (specific)
- Why this touch at this moment
Touch sequence:
1. Engage with their content (comment, share) — before connecting
2. Connection request with personalized note
3. First DM: non-pitchy, value-led
4. Second DM: reference a trigger or insight, soft ask
5. Final touch: low-pressure close or graceful exit
**Guardrails & Quality Control:**
- Touch 1 must be genuine engagement — not a surface-level 'great post!' comment
- The connection request note must not contain a pitch or product mention
- First DM must reference something specific about the prospect — generic openers are dead on arrival
- If the prospect responds at any touch, exit the sequence immediately and switch to a real conversationHow to use
Run this prompt in four steps
- 1Customize touches 2–4 for each prospect individually — mass messaging destroys social selling effectiveness.
- 2Track response rates by touch to identify where the sequence is breaking down.
- 3If a prospect engages with your content before you connect, start at Touch 2 — skip Touch 1.
- 4Move prospects who respond to LinkedIn outreach into an email sequence or call — don't live in DMs.
